Michael L. Banner entered the mortgage industry in 1982 and has been involved in the education of mortgage professionals for over 25 years.  He founded the largest for sale by owner Mortgage Company in the nation in 1995 and acted as its President for 6 years.

From 2001-2005 Mr. Banner acted as a consultant to several large independent mortgage companies wishing to expand their lending base on a national level.

In 2005, for both personal & professional reasons, Mr. Banner totally dedicated his career to the emerging Reverse Mortgage market. Mr. Banner founded LoanWell America, which today ranks among the largest independent reverse mortgage companies in the nation. LoanWell America is also listed in HUD’s Top 100 Reverse Mortgage Lenders in the nation.

His business model of forming working relationships with trusted senior advisors such as Certified Financial Planners, long term care providers, insurance agents and elder care attorneys has attracted national attention.

Mr. Banner has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Tampa Bay Business Journal and has appeared on the Fox Business Network.  Michael is a monthly contributor to the Reverse Review and has been interviewed or appeared in the Daily Mortgage Blog, Reverse Mortgage Daily and Senior Market Advisor.

A proven senior advocate and accomplished public speaker he is a member of the National Reverse Mortgage Lending Association (NRMLA) and is a member of its State & Local Issues Committee, and a member of the Board of Directors of FPA of Tampa Bay.

Michael has been the Key Note speaker at the Certified Financial Planners annual symposium, the Florida Guardian Association and the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) annual tradeshow.
